Tell on Trump

One aspect we’re certain of when it comes to Donald Trump is that there are numerous details about his life and leadership that he prefers to keep private.

If you’ve arrived on this page, there’s a chance you possess insights regarding Donald Trump or his administration’s actions that you believe should be brought to public attention.

Let’s delve into the life and times of Donald Trump, a figure who has been in the public eye for decades and has certainly left his mark. From real estate magnate to reality TV star, and finally, as the 45th President of the United States, there is much to discuss.

I like Trump’s policies. There, I said it. As a conservative, I find myself agreeing with many of the decisions and actions taken by the former president during his time in office. While I understand that he was a polarizing figure and not everyone shares my views, I believe it’s important to have an open and honest discussion about why I support his policies.

One of the main reasons I like Trump’s policies is because he focused on putting America first. He prioritized the needs and interests of our country above those of other nations, which I believe is the duty of any president. Whether it was renegotiating trade deals, securing our borders, or standing up to foreign adversaries, Trump made it clear that he was committed to protecting American interests.

Another aspect of Trump’s policies that I appreciate is his emphasis on deregulation and reducing government bureaucracy. As a small business owner, I know firsthand how burdensome regulations can be. Trump recognized this and worked to cut unnecessary regulations that were stifling economic growth. He also implemented policies that encouraged job creation and investment, which helped to boost the economy and create new opportunities for Americans. I will consider voting for him again. I do not think he will get our debt down but will solve the migrant and border crisis.

1. Business Career:

Before stepping into the political arena, Trump was already a household name in the world of business. His career as a real estate developer began in the 1970s when he took the reins of his father’s company, the Trump Organization. He then put his stamp on New York City’s skyline, with iconic properties such as the Trump Tower, a 58-story skyscraper on Fifth Avenue.

Under Trump’s leadership, the company expanded its operations to include not just real estate, but also casinos, hotels, and golf courses. His ventures, however, were not without their share of controversy. For instance, Trump’s casino operations in Atlantic City filed for bankruptcy multiple times, raising questions about his business acumen.

2. Television Personality:

In the early 2000s, Trump moved from the boardroom to the living room with “The Apprentice.” The reality TV show, which aired for 15 seasons, featured contestants vying for a job within the Trump Organization. Trump’s catchphrase, “You’re fired!”, became a cultural phenomenon and added to his larger-than-life persona.

3. Presidency:

Trump’s political career began in earnest in 2015 when he announced his candidacy for the presidency. As a candidate, Trump stood out for his unconventional campaign style, marked by headline-grabbing statements and a significant social media presence. His policies focused on immigration reform, deregulation of industries, and tax cuts.

In 2016, he won the presidency in a surprise victory against Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. His tenure as president was eventful, to say the least. His administration saw significant policy changes, including the rolling back of environmental regulations, renegotiation of trade agreements, and a hardline stance on immigration.

However, his presidency was not without controversy. For example, his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, his impeachment by the House of Representatives twice (first over allegations of soliciting foreign interference in the 2020 U.S. Presidential election and obstruction of Congress, and second on charges of incitement of insurrection following the storming of the U.S. Capitol), and his repeated claims of election fraud in the 2020 presidential race were points of intense debate.

Despite these controversies, Trump’s presidency was also marked by a robust economy pre-COVID, with low unemployment rates and stock market growth, among other indicators.

4. Post-Presidency:

After leaving office, Trump has maintained a significant presence in the political landscape. He has hinted at a potential run in the 2024 presidential election, and his endorsements remain influential within the Republican Party.

Early Life:

Donald John Trump was born on June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York City, the fourth of five children of Fred and Mary Anne Trump. He attended the New York Military Academy and later received an economics degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Personal Life:

Over the years, Trump’s personal life has been as much a topic of public interest as his professional endeavors. He has been married three times, first to Ivana Zelníčková, with whom he had three children: Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. His second marriage was to Marla Maples, with whom he has one daughter, Tiffany. Currently, he is married to Melania Trump, and they have one son, Barron.

Trump’s Political Philosophy:

Trump’s political philosophy has often been described as populist, nationalist, protectionist, and authoritarian. His rhetoric is known for its straightforward, often abrasive style, with a heavy reliance on Twitter for direct communication to the public. During his presidency, he championed an “America First” policy, focusing on American manufacturing, reducing the trade deficit, and stringent immigration control.

Legal Controversies:

Throughout his career, Trump has faced numerous legal challenges and investigations. One of the most high-profile cases is the investigation led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, appointed by the Department of Justice to look into potential links between Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia. The final report, delivered in 2019, did not establish that Trump’s campaign conspired with Russia, but left open the question of whether Trump obstructed justice.

Another controversy surrounds his finances. Despite promising to release his tax returns during his presidential campaign, Trump broke with this precedent set by previous presidents. In 2020, The New York Times reported that Trump paid only $750 in federal income taxes in the year he won the presidency and another $750 in his first year in office.

 Post-Presidential Ventures:

Post-presidency, Trump has remained politically active, holding rallies and endorsing candidates in the Republican Party. He also started his own blog, “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump,” though it was shut down after less than a month. Furthermore, he has floated the idea of launching his own social media platform.

Outside of politics, he continues to oversee his businesses through the Trump Organization, though they have faced legal and financial challenges. The organization is under investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office and the New York State Attorney General’s office for potential financial crimes.
